🎤 Keynote speaker: @carlton
We're elated to announce Carlton Gibson as a keynote speaker for DjangoCon Europe 2026! 🎉
Carlton is a former Django Fellow and the creator/maintainer of multiple open-source projects in the Django ecosystem. You may also know him as the co-host of the @djangochat podcast. All in all, we just had to have him in Athens. 🇬🇷✨
Can't wait to hear everything he has to share! 🌟
Gelato break during DjangoCon Europe 2026… in a place called Django in Athens🍦😄
Couldn’t not stop here.
Thinking of @mariatta , this feels very on brand for her conference selfies 😄
Back in Chicago! 🇺🇸
After landing at ORD, border controls and an hour on the Blue Line, it felt great to walk through downtown Chicago again.
Just after checking into the hotel, I ran into @webology, @wsvincent and @grandstaff in the lobby. We had dinner at the hotel bar, with @veldakiara, @kojoidrissa and @jong0uld aggiungereigradually joining us. 😊
After almost 24 hours awake, I think I've earned some sleep. 😴
Just got off stage with @carlton at DjangoCon Europe 2026 🇬🇷
We shared the next edition of Django on the Med 🧳
→ Pescara, Italy 🇮🇹
→ 23–25 September 2026
https://www.djangomed.eu
Then I also introduced PyCon Italia 2026
→ Bologna, Italy 🇮🇹
→ 28–30 May 2026

And on May 27 there will be a free community day with workshops, including a special “Django Off The Med” session 🙂
Day 1 of DjangoCon Europe 2026 in Athens is done 🇬🇷
As always, the best part is the people. Old friends, folks I’ve shared so many moments with, volunteers, and lots of new faces.
Also had a few people come up during the day to chat, ask about my talk, share feedback… those small moments really stay with you 🙂
This is the human side of the Django community.
I had a great time, as always, at #DjangoConUS
Feeling inspired, motivated and very very tired. 😅
Thank you to everyone who put this together and that came, you are awesome 🙌. See you next year 👋 💜
Closing session just wrapped up at DjangoCon Europe 2026 in Athens 🇬🇷
Final thanks, hugs, goodbyes… and that feeling that it went by too fast.
See you somewhere down the road 🙂
Boarding my plane and #DjangoConUS was another wonderful time.
Wonderful people. Wonderful new friends and old friends. Wonderful organizers. Wonderful city. Just wonderful. 💘
I forgot to lock my screen and they've been making plans
I'm about to fly from Rome to Chicago for DjangoCon US 2026! 🇺🇸
Crossing the Atlantic again to meet the Django community in the US, and returning as a speaker and DSF board member. 🦄

See you soon! 👋
