All morning everyone kept checking the time and saying I gotta go hear Sean speak! A full house for @sboots’s talk on “Revolution, not evolution, for federal public service delivery” at #FWD50
Day 1 of @fwd50! Already getting to catch up with so many of the #GCData faves over coffee and croissants. Counting down to the opening keynote with Liz Christie and Suzie Lim Garrard 🕰️
At the forefront of my mind this morning listening in to #fwd50 is the power imbalance at the center of the relationship between a person and a government. The starting point can’t be the “service window” because those are the marginal outputs of an inequitable systems/policies/laws, not the source. Ie. Having smoother digital experiences with the govt in applying for services doesn’t improve trust in govt for marginalized communities experiencing police violence.
