Spaf is a homunculus of possible extraterrestrial origin, tilting at windmills. Cybersecurity, bad jokes, political outrage, academe, non-sequiturs, entropy. See about.me/spaf for more.

Builder of security products and programs. Teacher of those who run them.

I'm a cybersecurity executive with deep technical roots, product management experience, and a business mindset. I've built security products and programs from early stage to enterprise scale. I'm also a Faculty Fellow at SANS Institute and the creator of REMnux, a popular Linux toolkit for malware analysis. I share perspectives on security leadership and technology at zeltser.com.

World Wide Web Consortium
@[email protected]

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) was established in 1994 by Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee, to develop interoperable standards to lead the Web to its full potential.

We are an international multi-stakeholder community where member organizations, a full-time staff, and the public work together to build a Web based on the principles of accessibility, internationalization, privacy and security.

Please be more curious than critical. Your interactions go to real people who care and do their best 🙏

I was a captain in the United States Air Force who formally trained as an intelligence officer. I later worked in information warfare. I promoted the concept that "prevention eventually fails" in my first book (2004) and developed tactics, operations, and strategy to detect and respond to nation-state and criminal computer intrusions. I wrote about cybersecurity from 2001 to 2021. I created the GE-CIRT and was Mandiant's first CISO. I currently advocate for @corelight. My latest books are here amzn.to/3B2AcMc
