Good morning from #FOSDEM!
Yesterday was pure magic: I loved every single presentation in the Social Web devroom, with devs and Fediverse champions sharing their inspiring work.
I didn’t post anything because I was so absorbed in all the talks (plus @liaizon and @Sascha did a fantastic job chronicling the event).
I can’t stop thinking about one of @benpate’s closing slides:
“Every single thing you do to improve the Fediverse is a win for humanity”

Some interesting (to me) stats from #FOSDEM
Talks about NFTs: 0.
Presentations about the Metaverse: None.
Cryptobros inviting me to a party in order to schill their coin: Zip.
Really enthusiastic LLM users describing how AI has improved their OSS codebase: Zilch.
People complaining about pronouns and codes of conduct: Nada.
"Ironic" hats saying "Make xyz Great Again": Conspicuous by their absence.
What did *you* think was missing from FOSDEM?
Our free stickers went like hot cakes yesterday at #FOSDEM. The new "My friends are not for sale" ones are all gone, they were an experimental last-minute print of a new design (which is coming soon as a t-shirt, by the way!). The less stuff for us to carry back home, the better. I wish people would grab the leaflets too!
We are having a great time at #FOSDEM and we only have three enamel “Live Laugh Federate” pins left! (Two just got sold!)
