History buff who yearns for the Internet of earlier days when all was possible and the barbarians were yet to balkanize the virgin information universe. As US Government websites that don't support the prevailing narrative go dark, "On this day in Social Security History," posts on Mastodon -out of the grasp of redactivists (sic)🤞- are my feeble attempt to remember the hard fought victories and progressive actions that made social insurance in the United States possible.
