Iris Young (he/they/she) (PhD)
@[email protected]Structural biology (XFEL crystallography, cryoEM, electron crystallography) data processing methods developer. I use my degree in chemistry to write software to use physics to understand biology. As of 2024, based in Hamburg. Ich hätte gern, wenn du mein schlecht Deutsch korrigierst, ob du das willst.
70% coffee by volume. I’m really into electronics, 3D printing, and sewing right now, and trying very hard to learn German. I have a very fluffy and affectionate cat. Big fan of bicycles and trains, better public infrastructure generally, and investment in collective wellbeing generally. Food motivated; very easily bribed with coffee and pastries. Always learning.
I'd rather you get a sense of my values from checking my feed, but in very-very-brief, fascism is bad, open source and open science are necessary but not sufficient, and the right to repair includes yourself.
Reilly Spitzfaden (they/them)
@[email protected]Composer and audio programmer in Rochester, NY | Lecturer in music tech and film/game scoring at SUNY Geneseo
For music, I use Max/MSP, Tidal Cycles/SuperCollider, and Lilypond, as well as writing for acoustic instruments, and I like to mix glitchy, noisy, microtonal sounds with “cheesy” retro synths
For programming, I use Rust, C++/JUCE, and C; I made my IndieWeb-style website with 11ty; and I like using Neovim
I also like fountain pens, analog photography, and I'm getting into TTRPGs

dev by day, hobbyist gamedev by night. Generalist FOSS contributor. Finnish AuDHD neurodisaster. I like metal, industrial and EBM music, and I love FPS, RPG and spacesim games. Pan enby. Panby?
I love FOSS and Linux. I want to help make gaming better on Linux desktop.
Does not want to talk about "AI", LLMs, cryptoscams.
My opinions are always my own. Like my shitposts.

@[email protected]Mathematical physicist.
Postdoc at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, and research associate at St. Peter's College.
I work with Feynman graphs, combinatorics of power series, resurgence theory, and do a lot of C++ programming.
My goal is to understand the physical properties of renormalized Green functions in quantum field theory.
Has anyone seen an instanton around here lately?

Hex-Rays SA
@[email protected]Hex-Rays was founded in 2005 to improve the digital security and face the rising cybersecurity threats that are increasingly affecting both public and private entities.
Fully independent from any governmental agencies and stock market pressures, Hex-Rays is renowned for developing the state-of-the-art binary software analysis solutions used for reverse-engineering, hostile code analysis and vulnerability research.
Its world-famous product IDA Pro is the premier product for software disassembly.
Hex-Rays has also released the Hex-Rays Decompiler plugin for IDA Pro, which dramatically increases the productivity of IT security researchers involved in the analysis of real world C/C++ binaries.
Thanks to the speed and scalability of its core algorithms, Hex-Rays does not merely break new ground in the well known C/C++ decompilation problem: it lays foundations for future developments in the field of binary analysis!

@[email protected]Joined mastodonapp.uk back in Nov 2022. I have a 'backup' a/c on mendeddrum.org.
Oldish bloke, got to retirement age in 2024. Now retired, due to the old line about "when it stops being fun, stop doing it".
Anyway, old-school coder. I've worked with everything from punch-cards to Perl, via machine language and microcode, C, C++, SQL, etc, etc. Now a happy Linux user on Garuda.
Getting more radically 'left' as I get older. I despise all racists, homophobes, Nazis, etc.
