Hereโs an unpublished photo of @felixxm during Django On The Med 2025 ๐๏ธ
He kept coding with full focus even after all tables and chairs were removed and we were ready for lunch ๐งโโ๏ธ
At that moment he was working on a pull request that adds database-level delete options for related fields which makes Django 6.1 more efficient by avoiding unnecessary queries ๐
He has just merged this PR, making the new feature available for everyone ๐
Thanks @EvilDMP ! ๐
Really appreciate your kind words and your positive outlook about the future of what we started together. It really means a lot coming from you. ๐
As you asked, @wsvincent, here's my Django On The Med 2025 ๐๏ธ experience post, for those of you who want to see the pictures in one place. ๐
Itโs such a joy to see the first Django On The Med sprints come to life so beautifully. ๐๏ธ
I had first suggested this idea back in 2022, and helping organize it together with @carlton made it even more special. ๐
Iโm truly grateful to everyone who joined, shared their energy, and made these three days such a positive experience. ๐
Read my post collecting all the Mastodon moments from the event:

@wsvincent @django @felixxm @carlton @djangocon Yes, it feels really good to see that idea for developer sprints become something real with Django On The Med ๐๏ธ
You should totally join one of the next ones, you were there when the whole idea first came up! ๐
I'm at Girona airport waiting for my flight back to Pescara ๐ฌ
Thanks to all the members of the @django community who trusted us and joined us in Palafrugell ๐๏ธ
I still remember talking about the Django Sprints first with @felixxm , Simon Charette, @carlton and @wsvincent at @djangocon 2022 in San Diego ๐ด
Special thanks to Carlton for believing in this idea and for carrying the weight of organizing the first edition. ๐ค
Carlton, we did it! ๐
We woke up again on the Costa Brava in Calella de Palafrugell, where we spent so many pleasant moments together under a wonderful weather ๐๏ธ
A morning of leisure and relaxation after three intense days of sprints was just what we needed to recharge and unwind ๐
Of course we kept talking about all the ideas we shared these days but this time far from the computer while exploring the old town of Girona ๐ฐ

We said goodbye to some friends but everyone left happy with the time shared together ๐ซ
