EuroPython 2025 2025

Day 5 (22)

Travel donkey and fledgling Pythonista @timothy and I are ready for our final day at ! I'm running on fumes at this point and will probably take a few days to recharge my social battery after this, but that's so worth it.

And this is a wrap for for travel donkey @timothy and me. It was amazing to meet so many old and new friends, and I'm really sorry I couldn't say good bye to all of you. Despite currently running on fumes I'm really looking forward to whatever will be my next Python conference 😊

Just had a lovely chat with someone I met at the gate who also attended and is now sitting a few rows behind me on the plane to FRA. I may have left the conference, but the conference hasn't left me 🤭

Btw, this is why I always travel in event specific attire 😉

This morning we celebrated Django's 20th birthday at EuroPython 2025. 🥳

We had a birthday cake and took some photos to immortalize the event. 🎂

At , a seat has been reserved for the late Michael Foord.

To help remember his wisdom, I've made @voidbot to share his best practices for software development and testing. Follow and learn!

Last night was the social event at EuroPython 2025. For me, it started a little early with a delicious pizza with Antonio in the center of Prague, and then continued on Střelecký Island with tons of people, despite the rain. Thanks to the organizers for creating these moments of networking. 🍕🍻

At lots of people are asking how many projects are built with @django. The answer is about 500,000 to 1M. And yet we only raise $250k per year to support the project, yep, sustainability in open source is hard ☺️

Next up... @miguelgrinberg with the much anticipated talk "Microdot, the impossibly small web framework for Python and MicroPython".

I am super happy that I have met Miguel in person for the very first time. I had been reading his books and blog posts many, many years ago, and I learned so much.

Thank you!

Also thanks to the many volunteers at who make this a wonderful and memorable event.

This morning I attended the Python Organizers Open Space at EuroPython 2025. In addition to the interesting discussion, we also took some photos and exchanged personal experiences and ideas. Thanks to the organizers of EuroPython and all the other conferences in our community. 🤗
