Koichi Sasada shared an incredible talk on “20 years of YARV”!
YARV (Yet Another RubyVM) started in 2004 to speed up Ruby and is still at the core of Ruby today.
Koichi walked us through the highs and lows of YARV’s journey over two decades.
"Mechanical Sympathy, or: Writing Fast Ruby Programs" by Tim Kächele at #EuRuKo2024 brought some fresh insights into Ruby optimization.
This talk reminded us that understanding the hardware behind our code can make a huge difference in performance.
