The gaming on BSD devroom was full, so I went to Janson to listen to the talk on How to keep open source open without leaving our communities open to threats.
It turns out I lost my airpods 3 hours ago, but someone had handed them in to the lost & found! That’s much appreciated.
The lightning lightning talks went by so fast I forgot to post about most of them. The one I remember most was the wonderfully nerdy talk on getting Arch Linux to work on a mainframe. They weren’t anywhere near describing all the problems at the end of the allotted 256 seconds and had to be swept off the stage with a broom.
I visited the Firefly Zero booth to try out the new hardware prototype. It looks and feels great. I also got to try my game Lampy in multiplayer, which was great. But it still got a bit sluggish with too many fireflies on screen. There’s more optimizations needed.
I guess I’m staying in Janson for the next talk, as I want to listen to the lightning talks afterwards. I’m not that interested in this talk on What do we mean when we say Sovereign AI.
After standing in line for the whole of last talk I got in to the Robotics and Simulation devroom for the copper-rs Rust engine for robotics.
I’m waiting for the first talk in the security devroom. It’s by my friend Olle E. Johansson on signing your artefacts.
