@fosdem @RichiH I want to bring or fund at least 10 of these devices to the upcoming #FOSDEM. Seemingly genuine sensors can be had for ~17 (not 70+) EUR per sensor on AliExpress.

Would FOSDEM infra team allow plugging them into USB port of the video boxes if I solder and bring them, or would you rather manufacture them by an internal team (for trust reasons)?

Does anyone have photos or at least recollection of how power sockets are situated on the lecturer podiums at #FOSDEM? Are there many of them, are they densely packed together (ruling out bulky multipliers)?
@RichiH @fosdem my letters to misc #FOSDEM maillists seem to have been held - I guess moderation or bugs. Zero responses in any case, which is unfortunate. I take it as a sign to make the smallest possible batch, 10 units. I just want to minimize the hole in my pocket in absence of any expression of interest from others.
Order made. Devices should be in my hands towards the last week before FOSDEM. I will set up monitoring and contact schedule app devs to try integrate this feature.
@RichiH @fosdem ok so PCB making with sensors sourcing and assembly comes to 33 EUR per unit (if I do a big order). Sourcing USB power from mains socket is more expensive than I expected, so I am calling for devroom and stand owners to adopt a sensor, i.e. to look after it and make sure it's fed organic local-grown electricity (USB-C 5v, no PD should be needed).
