Do you really need your users to create an online account? Private sector has realized that sometimes it doesnt make sense to introduce that friction. Xiaopu Fung claims that the public sector should be more intentional about when we force users to create accounts #fwd50

Passport checker lets people understand the status of their request. This is a 'small' thing that can dramatically improve how people perceive service delivery.

UXers may recognize this as the heuristic "visibility of system status", which is one of the basics of good design. #fwd50

I love the passport checker.
Being able to keep people from having to call in is a huge benefit.

Listening to @sboots at #FWD50

@bethmaru I like the idea of Mastodon but for the accounts that I like to follow 50% are still on X and the other 50% seem to be mainly active on LinkedIn. Maybe @sboots’s attempt to use #fwd50 to get more public servants to be active here, can be the turning point?
