OH: “A lot of the stuff that Python gets praised for being fast at, PHP now outperforms Python at doing, but it’s a story we’re not really telling. We should be telling that story.”

Who will I see at next week? I’m giving a keynote on Thursday, and I’m super nervous. It’s only the second keynote I’ve ever given, and the first one was over 10 years ago. 😬😰

This is part of the reason I couldn’t get to a good place (mentally) in order to do a _real_ “Saving Open Source” talk at :

Hey, everyone! I’m giving a keynote at @phptek in Chicago in April. I’m pretty excited about it, and I’d love to see you there.

Today is the last day for the Early Bird Discount, but you can get an even deeper discount by using my super-special speaker discount link: ti.to/phptek/phptek-2024/disco

That means you have to buy today to get the tickets at their lowest price. 🙂

I hope I see you there!

I’ve seen a number of folks get excited about contributing to since , and that’s amazing!

My advice: pace yourself, and start small. Give yourself a long runway, and if you don’t contribute at the level you were hoping, don’t count that as a failure, and don’t beat yourself up over it.

It’s easy to burn out quickly if your expectation is to jump head-first into open source. Every contribution, no matter how tiny you perceive it, is a success.

Is there a way to do an “OR” search for hashtags on ? Or maybe one of the apps has implemented this? @MonaApp, do you support this?

I want to do a search like this:

OR OR

Then, I want to save or bookmark it, so I can check it regularly as a separate “feed.”

(Edit: I know about the advanced interface, but I’m on mobile, specifically iOS.)
