OH: āA lot of the stuff that Python gets praised for being fast at, PHP now outperforms Python at doing, but itās a story weāre not really telling. We should be telling that story.ā #PHPTek #HallwayTrack #PHP
Hey, everyone! Iām giving a keynote at @phptek in Chicago in April. Iām pretty excited about it, and Iād love to see you there.

I hope I see you there!
Iāve seen a number of folks get excited about contributing to #OpenSource since #PHPTek, and thatās amazing!
My advice: pace yourself, and start small. Give yourself a long runway, and if you donāt contribute at the level you were hoping, donāt count that as a failure, and donāt beat yourself up over it.
Itās easy to burn out quickly if your expectation is to jump head-first into open source. Every contribution, no matter how tiny you perceive it, is a success.
This is part of the reason I couldnāt get to a good place (mentally) in order to do a _real_ āSaving Open Sourceā talk at #PHPTek:
From @geerlingguy: ā2024 is the year corporate open source diedā

Is there a way to do an āORā search for hashtags on #Mastodon? Or maybe one of the apps has implemented this? @MonaApp, do you support this?
I want to do a search like this:
#phptek OR #phptek24 OR #phptek2024
Then, I want to save or bookmark it, so I can check it regularly as a separate āfeed.ā
(Edit: I know about the advanced interface, but Iām on mobile, specifically iOS.)
Iāve posted the slides to my #Composer package tutorial at #PHPTek. Many apologies for not posting them beforehand. I normally do that, and it slipped my mind this time. #PHP
