Now that we have reached the closing of talks, I'll no longer be posting announcements.

Thank you to everyone who has walked up to me and recognized me from posting those, my goal is to make them more accessible since we talk a lot about the hallway track.

Confirmed at a 5 year (maybe more, maybe less) plan for Python to remove the GIL. Currently they've got separate builds for with-GIL and free-threaded, the goal is to ensure backward compatibility while eventually getting rid of the GIL.
