PyCon US 2024

Day 5: Talks (314)

One of many highlights of was meeting the creator and maintainers of and going to their open space. I've been working on it a lot on my own projects and talking to the whole team was amazing!

Very interesting talk (and hallway fun) by @stylus on connecting retro input to modern computers with CircuitPython. Now I want a hardware project... 🤔

Trying to see a few sights while in Pittsburgh. Rode up the Duquesne Incline this morning with @julinvictus!

The post with the most favorites at today is this post from @baconandcoconut urging anyone with a scratchy throat to come and take a free covid test in the staff office (room 306).

I think it's amazing that the PyCon staff is doing everything possible to make sure all attendees are safe and healthy! 👏

Another big day at today and we've are getting another record breaking day!

As I write this the number of Mastodon posts with the PyConUS hastag is tied with yesterday's total of 258, but we are expecting a few more posts before the day is done, so the record will be broken for the third day in a row!

Speaking of breaking records, PyCon US is now also officially the conference with the most Mastodon posts tracked on fedidevs.com/conferences with 1116 posts and counting! 🎉

Glad so many people enjoyed my keynote sharing stories from several years working on packaging infrastructure.

harihareswara.net/posts/2024/r has a bunch of links and other references, and I hope to post a fuller transcript with slides within the next few weeks. If there is anything you particularly want sooner than that - or anything you want to tell me you really liked! - please let me know.
