Thank you #PyConUS for everything.
I'm so thankful and happy to be part of such an awesome community.
I really enjoyed seeing everyone, whether for the first time or Nth time.
Catch you all next year!
Yesterday was my first time doing #sprints at #PyConUS (or anywhere), and I didn't know what to expect coming in. From the time I asked "is this the @coveragepy table?" to when I left, a table of complete strangers were so kind, funny, helpful, and patient as I explained my idea, got set up, and started hacking away while asking tons of questions all along. Thanks to @nedbat @grohe43 @marcgibbons @kevin and the rest of the sprinters for being the best example of what #OSS collaboration can be.
Bye #PyConUS, it’s been real. My heart is full. Also couldn’t have been happier with Pittsburgh and can’t wait to return next year.
Hey folks, one last entreaty before the #PyConUS hashtag trails off.
We could really use your financial support. Our non-profit #ScholarshipFund is the travel sponsor for #PyCon US 2024.
We've recouped only 4% of what we gave. We're here to serve & happy to do it but could really use some boosts across the fediverse to drive donors so we can do it again.
Pls donate to help more people experience #Pittsburgh through tech conference travel:
https://codeandsupply.fund/donate
And then boost!
Did anyone in the fediverse attend #PyConUS the online/remote way?
I'm interested in trying it next year (hoping it'll be available again), but haven't seen any toots from online attendees.
In related news, it's been a blast watching all the PRs and issues from the sprints landing, I hope to participate next year.
Before #PyConUS I had the opportunity to visit HackPGH, a community-driven makerspace/hackerspace in #Pittsburgh. 3D Printers, electronic benches, woodworking and mechanical machines, all in one big place! Unfortunately they aren't here on #fediverse (didn't find yet!) but I reccomend anyone in the city to visit them! Kudos for Andrews, for doing a tour in the space with me! https://hackpgh.org/ #hackerspaces #makerspaces
Couldn’t have asked for a better #PyConUS ! Many old friends and new, many techncial deep dives, got to meet so many great people I only know from The Internet… truly a treat.
Same time same place next year?
I am not sure if I am going to stay contributing past the #pyconus sprint, but the nice part of pallets-eco is that the future of this package will no longer depend on the motivation of a single individual.
