PyCon US 2024

Day 7: Sprints (73)

NOTE FOR OTHER RIVER-ADJACENT PYTHON CONFERENCES

apparently if you ask the attendees of a Python conference if they want to kayak to the venue, at least some of them will say yes?

Thank you for everything.

I'm so thankful and happy to be part of such an awesome community.

I really enjoyed seeing everyone, whether for the first time or Nth time.

Catch you all next year!

Yesterday was my first time doing at (or anywhere), and I didn't know what to expect coming in. From the time I asked "is this the @coveragepy table?" to when I left, a table of complete strangers were so kind, funny, helpful, and patient as I explained my idea, got set up, and started hacking away while asking tons of questions all along. Thanks to @nedbat @grohe43 @marcgibbons @kevin and the rest of the sprinters for being the best example of what collaboration can be.

Bye , it’s been real. My heart is full. Also couldn’t have been happier with Pittsburgh and can’t wait to return next year.

Hey folks, one last entreaty before the hashtag trails off.

We could really use your financial support. Our non-profit is the travel sponsor for US 2024.

We've recouped only 4% of what we gave. We're here to serve & happy to do it but could really use some boosts across the fediverse to drive donors so we can do it again.

Pls donate to help more people experience through tech conference travel:

codeandsupply.fund/donate

And then boost!

Did anyone in the fediverse attend the online/remote way?

I'm interested in trying it next year (hoping it'll be available again), but haven't seen any toots from online attendees.

In related news, it's been a blast watching all the PRs and issues from the sprints landing, I hope to participate next year.

Before I had the opportunity to visit HackPGH, a community-driven makerspace/hackerspace in . 3D Printers, electronic benches, woodworking and mechanical machines, all in one big place! Unfortunately they aren't here on (didn't find yet!) but I reccomend anyone in the city to visit them! Kudos for Andrews, for doing a tour in the space with me! hackpgh.org/

Couldn’t have asked for a better ! Many old friends and new, many techncial deep dives, got to meet so many great people I only know from The Internet… truly a treat.

Same time same place next year?

I am not sure if I am going to stay contributing past the sprint, but the nice part of pallets-eco is that the future of this package will no longer depend on the motivation of a single individual.
