I've updated my "How to have a great first PyCon" blog post for 2025.
I linked to more blog posts from others on "how to PyCon", updated links to this year's PyCon website, added more updates around the implosion of Twitter, and updated some outdated references.
A #PyConUS attendee pointed out this placement of this "Beautiful Soup" plate next to this snake plate in the Andy Warhol museium.
I do not understand whether this was done deliberately.

Sad news to share: Michael Ryabushkin (goodwill) passed away last week. He was instrumental in keeping SoCal Python running for years.
If he had an impact on you that you'd like to share or if you would like to read memories from others, see the memoriam page that SoCal Python setup.
FlaskCon (at PyCon US) extended their CFP deadline.
You still have a few more days to submit a talk. If you have a 30 minute talk on #Flask (or you could put one together) submit it!
I have a medium fitted #PyConUS and would like to trade for a medium straight cut. If anyone has the opposite problem let me know tonight!
I also have the same problem with a PyCon 2023 medium fitted shirt I accidentally bought.
Going to @pycon? Consider arriving early and updating your registration to add a tutorial or two.
The tutorials are an opportunity to spend 3 hours diving into one specific topic in a hands-on way.
And this year the tutorials will not be recorded, so the only way to partake is in-person at #PyConUS. Pre-registration (with an additional fee for each) is required so update your ticket.
@nedbat putting this on Mastodon as well:
Also fitting into the analogy of "Python is like summer camp", coming down off the excitement of PyCon summer camp can feel mildly depressing the week after.
If you feel down next week after #PyConUS ends, you're not alone.

Where will the online watering hole be during #PyConUS this year?
I just posted a blog post with some online poll results and my own thoughts on this topic.
