I'm currently flying to Pittsburgh, listening to the end of The Upswing audiobook, thinking about @brainwane singing Solidarity Forever during her #PyConUS 2024 keynote, and remembering conversations with #Python community members about doing what's best for the community as a whole.
This will likely be the most important audiobook I'll listen to this year. I hope we can continue moving from individualism to communitarianism, both as a community and as a world. Let's move from "me" to "we". ๐
I'll be in Pittsburgh early next week and am looking for something fun to do on Tuesday May 13.
Any other #PyConUS folks in town early and/or anyone have suggestions for what I should do?
If after meeting you at #PyConUS, I shared the equivalent of a digital business card page with you, what might you hope to see on it?
I've got social handles, email, and website down. I feel like I'm missing a couple more "something I often want to link folks to" things.
Spending my afternoon creating a custom Sphinx extension to monkey patch an extra flag into doctest because I decided I needed it for my #PyConUS tutorial... which is not on Sphinx or doctest. ๐
Rabbit holes happen... ๐
Hey #PyConUS!
Want to learn a game? I would love to teach you the Cabo card game! ๐
Come to the Westin lobby!
Where will the online watering hole be during #PyConUS this year?
I just posted a blog post with some online poll results and my own thoughts on this topic.

Did I record a video with 2 rubber ducks as props with the expectation that those ducks might show up in the preview card for the video once it was uploaded and published? ๐ฆ๐ฆ
Yes.
Should you sign up for my #PyConUS tutorial?
Yes. (if you want to practice making decorators)
I've updated my "How to have a great first PyCon" blog post for 2025.
I linked to more blog posts from others on "how to PyCon", updated links to this year's PyCon website, added more updates around the implosion of Twitter, and updated some outdated references.
