PyCon US 2025

Day 8 (30)

I keep staring at these cables when I'm out in the common areas of the convention center. I really like how a bunch of individual pieces come together at such a clearly defined point to combine their strength.

It's a nice visual reminder of how strong and resilient a group of aligned individuals can be.

Just want to say congrats to @elthenerd and @jonafato for their successful first year chairing PyCon US 👏🏻 Very well done! I hope you all get to take a break now before starting to plan next year's conference 😊

If anyone else finds themselves attending Pittsburgh Airport due to weather delays, I'll be hosting a last minute open space at Penn Brewery in the "A" arm of the terminal.

I think that there will be a post- survey going out at some point where you can register feedback for the conference organizers. I would humbly submit that as part of that feedback you should suggest that PyCon should invite @grimalkina to give a keynote next year; our community needs to hear what she has to say.

I co-presented the sponsored session for Microsoft with my colleague Rohit, where we walked through a development flow from VS Code to Azure, using a *ton* of VS Code extensions plus the Azure Developer CLI.

"Have you ever started a Python process, realized that you made a mistake, immediately hit Ctrl+C to interrupt it and then waited a surprisingly long time to get the command line back?

This delay is caused by a bug in the compiled extension.
