Back home safe and sound after an amazing #PyConUS
I'll say a lot more after I rest, but it was an incredibly wonderful time where I got to watch amazing people do and push for the things they're passionate about, and the things that make them smile.
It was just a truly, deep, delight.
Head empty, heart full, ankle at 90%, and no geese in proximity.
Before there were even tiktoks, and shorts, and reels, there have always been: Lightning Talks ⚡ at conferences. Short and quick 5 minutes talk about something.
This year, I got to present a Lightning Talk at PyCon US: How to say thanks to Python people, and the video is now up.
Watch to learn all the different ways to show your appreciation to the Python community members around you. Number 5 will surprise you.
If you couldn't be in the room for @pluralistic giving the opening keynote for #PyConUS the video is up. You should watch it. Yes you. And you over there. And you in the corner trying to hide. You should all watch it.
While exiting the stage after my #PyConUS lightning talk, I didn't hear most of what @chrisjrn said.
"I knew that finishing with Trey, we'd finish with some food for thought. I just didn't realize how vegan it was going to be."
😅 I *did* find a way to make a talk about LLMs also be a talk about veganism.
I know most of us are home after #PyConUS already. Here's a little highlight of the fun we had at the conference, enjoy:

I gave a lightning talk at #PyConUS titled ORM? OMG!!, and also hosted an open space on the topic of ORMs which was really good! My lightning talk highlighted a tool called Advanced Alchemy (a wrapper around SQLAlchemy), and I had great conversations throughout the conference on the topic. Here's the vid:
As they say after #PyConUS, "Mind is empty, heart is full"
Leaving the Three Rivers on a rainy day. It's been a great PyCon this time around.
The #PyConUS Friday talks just dropped!

At PyCon US I filled like two swag bags full of stuff from various sponsor booths, with intention to share and give them away at my local Vancouver PyLadies meetup.
Todo: Now I gotta organize a meetup.
Problem: I need a venue 🥹 I'm technically an out-of-towner and don't have a strong local network
Help needed: Could y'all help connect me w/ potential meetup hosts in Vancouver area? I'd love to do a PyCon US Recap session for PyLadies Vancouver
