At #pyconit2025 I got to have a brief conversation with Alex Martelli. I got the chance to thank him for writing the Python Cookbook back in 2002, and I told him how that book changed my life. Having come from a STEM background with very little programming training, I learned to code from the Python Cookbook. I am still in the Python community after all these years, and I even had my own books published. The Cookbook had a remarkable impact on me at that time, and opened doors like a master key.
