Are social networks dead for conferences?

I’ve just been to PyCon Italia and here on Mastodon there have been an average of 2,4 post/day. I counted only 5-6 different people (out of 1000 attendees).

I also checked Bluesky and Instagram.

What am I missing?

We opened the sale of @pycon tickets yesterday and there are already only 2 tickets left for “Personal Early” fare (and 80 for the “Business Early”). I suggest to get them while available because prices will go up as soon as they run out 2025.pycon.it/en/tickets

There are 447 to vote (probably only 1/4 will be selected) and which ones will be at the conference depend on you 👈
