#reinvent there’s been a bunch of upgraded service announcements by AWS over the last few weeks but nothing on #sustainability. #AWS post- #reinvent #Sustainability update: Nothing new on carbon metrics, but AWS did a press release about their latest datacenter efficiency technology, and released Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) data for all their regions for 2022 and 2023, which is a welcome development. I spoke with the teams and they have nothing that was ready to announce. I watched most of the Peter DeSantis #reinvent Monday evening keynote and didn’t see any sustainability discussion. It seemed like an awkward mix of too geeky for most people but with little real technical meat for people who are interested in how #AWS works.
