Mr Shugo Maeda @shugo asking for the conference attendees to show support for the Fediverse and decentralised social web! Arigatou gozaimasu 🙏🏻#RubyWorld
I should have done more research when I spoke about Mastodon client apps in my #RubyWorld talk, I mentioned that SoraSNS is made in Japan... of course, so are Feather, Subway Tooter, Dawn, ZonePane, TootDesk and maybe even more that I missed mentioning. I love the diverse range of apps that are available for different cultures and preferences! Thank you to the developer community in Japan! -> https://joinmastodon.org/apps
Hello from the second day of #RubyWorld
Mr Shugo Maeda beginns the day with talking about the internet and how some of us cannot even remember a time without it. He says a system where individual nodes that even regular users can set up would be a better alternative to big centralized plattforms. He sees a lot of posts on X. He requests the Ruby Community to post about RubyWorld on other plattforms like Mastodon or Threads.
Note: There is livestream today too!
We love Ruby, we use it and we form the community and thats why we organize conferences.
We also have conferences in the US and Europe. its fun. and so we created gems and thus Rubygems. So we improved the language. 2001 in Tampa we had the first ruby conference there and we had people from 15 countries.
The amount of love is unique in the Ruby Community and that love made it a nice and friendly community. I am very proud of you. Ruby is great and it is OSS.
Nothing but admiration for the interpreters who cover tech conferences. So much lingo and terminology, and also as speakers we are not always all the most concise and on-point! Thank you to the translation team at #RubyWorld!
This has been something I have experienced at #RubyWorld - the warmth and love of the community here. @[email protected] @[email protected]
