Namespaces sadly not coming because takamori is too busy with work, but it will be a key concept for ruby 4.0!

An idea is to release 4.0 next year 30 year after the first release!

Another feature potentially coming it the pipleline operator. Last time it was cancelled because it was different from Elixir. He also points out the F# pipeline operator which starts from the end.

We love Ruby, we use it and we form the community and thats why we organize conferences.

We also have conferences in the US and Europe. its fun. and so we created gems and thus Rubygems. So we improved the language. 2001 in Tampa we had the first ruby conference there and we had people from 15 countries.

The amount of love is unique in the Ruby Community and that love made it a nice and friendly community. I am very proud of you. Ruby is great and it is OSS.

Matz next on automatic typing:
he is reminded of manual transmission by typing, more precise control, more fuel efficient, but we see less MT cars now in Japan.
I could drive MT, but do I want to really do that?
Nowadays its smooth and more fuell efficient than MT.

AT is as Quick as MT, AT is efficient enough, we dont care how AT works.

Automatic is the way to go. So i feel it might be the same in programming languages. We will see mainstream automatic typing

Who is it: Me

I made Ruby for myself. And then I decided to share it with other people by putting it on the internet. I was suprised that other people agreed with me that its was a beautiful nice language.

Matz now saying how he also wanted to do a overhaul of ruby in the early 00s with Ruby 2 *not 2.0, but he lost track, which was good, because perl and python had long migrations which took over 15 years. It was lucky that he didnt order or direct too much back then.
