Just an old geek. Learned about computers on a CARDIAC (CARDboard Illustrative Aid to Computation). Then the math teacher at HS got an old Navy surplus computer with drum memory. It had a high speed optical paper tape reader. From there it was BASIC, Cobol, FORTRAN, CMS-2Y, Jovial, Ada. Did some Java and C but never got that good. In retirement learning Rust.

I'm a staff engineer working with Python, Clojure, and all the DevOps technologies. Outside of work, I write Rust, contribute to open source, maintain a Kubernetes homelab cluster, and dabble in 3D printing and hardware.

In the past, I taught software engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, and worked with web technologies, across many industries, since 2006.

Linux enjoyer, (I use Gentoo, Alpine, and CachyOS) framework16 owner, AuDHD, and angry guy who doesn't like the world he lives in. Currently I use Rust, Zig, Python, C and C++, and Java and Kotlin. (and a tad bit of assembly as well!)
