2. @KrijnHoetmer and @ppk have found the perfect way to run a conference. Perfect venue location, layout, catering. Little details like the badges. They take your social media picture and put it on the badge. The badge is double sided. And inside the badge is the agenda. The after party has no DJ; you can actually hear people you're talking to.
So thank you again. To 10 years of #CSSDay.
That is the end of #CSSDay. I need you all to know that this is the perfect conference. Why? Two things:
1. The people. The room is full of nerdy people who love the web and CSS. The speakers are CSSWG members and other popular, passionate forward thinkers. The chats we have with them are just as fruitful and joyful as their talks. It's a massive privilege to meet them. And their message every year? 'Contribute and give feedback on web standards.'
Back in the hotel from #CSSDay. Tired and sleepy. That won't stop me from doing one last small CSS experiment before going to bed though.
Was nice meeting and talking to all of you, as always!
From years of being bored, unsatisfied, or struggling in various jobs and industries, I finally feel like I have come home.
I'm so happy to join an industry with such brilliant, interesting, and gloriously nerdy people - I mean this in the best possible way!
I have attended both Beyond Tellerrand Düsseldorf and CSS Day 2024 and, wow. Huge thank yous to the organisers, speakers, and to the many warm and funny fellow attendees I had the joy to socialise with.
This is my church.
After the #cssday conference it became very clear that Twitter is the past and Mastodon the future to follow all the HTML&CSS legends. So I have now also created a Mastodon account 😄
And another #cssday draws to a close, both all too soon, and also weirdly just at the right time. Speakers were—as ever—great, and hanging out with friends both old and new is never a bad thing.
Going home after a very successful #cssday . It was the last of @KrijnHoetmer , but not my last one.
Next year, shall we do it again?
