YouTube is annoying. We ran into 153 errors at DjangoCon US because of some changes YouTube were A/B testing.
Today, I noticed they rolled it out and all of our video embeds on https://djangotv.com were causing 153s until I deployed the latest version of lite-youtube-embed.
If anyone sees a feature or bug and you want to report it, I track them on https://github.com/django-news/djangotv-roadmap/issues and eventually get around to them.
@djangocon wrapped up last week. 🦄💙 From presentations and lightning talks to late-night Arcade fun, the Sixies had a blast with this amazing community. Until next year, Djangonauts! 🐍✨
I have had the most amazing opportunities to participate in multiple tech communities.
Last week, the #Django community at #DjangoCon opened its arms to me and made me feel like I had been a part of it all along!
Here are some notes from the event:
Since this has come up a few times, #DjangoConUS took a proactive approach about the uncertainty we faced before holding the event in Chicago.
Here's the post we published and sent to attendees. https://2025.djangocon.us/news/travel-to-chicago/
We set up a Travel Safety Registration system so we can verify attendees made it every step of the way, and we had volunteers check-in with everyone.
We also processed cancellations and issued dozens of online tickets for attendees who didn't feel safe.
I'm procrastinating on writing up my #DjangoCon US experience post by submitting Malcolm Tredinnick Memorial Prize nominations. I'm up to six!

Fixed that for them. #Windows10 #Windows11 #Linux #Chicago #Djangocon #DjangoconUS
Thank you so much for an amazing experience, #DjangoCon US! Everyone was incredibly welcoming. My talk was well received, it seems. I got to know some new friends, and spend time with old ones. I deeply appreciate the assistance I received from the conference to attend. Looking forward to doing it again next year!
Well, my “mild” flight delay turned into 3 hours. For a 2.5 hour flight.
But, I’m finally on a plane.
As #DjangoCon ends, I guess it’s time to share this again. My one good blog post. 🤣
Latest #DjangoCon idea. Aligning the Django events web apps on the same platform with a replaceable theme.
It seems like we may be asking several community members to do the same work over and over. My assumption is that people want something that functionally does it's job and can incorporate the fun design representing the event's theme.
