DjangoCon US 2024

Carlton Gibson ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ (9)

I thought @djangoconโ€™s COVID policy struck a good balance this year (again): Testing on the day of the conference, and again before the sprints, plus a seating area in the talks where masks were required. This seemed to me to work well. Wonder what others think? ๐Ÿ‚

@webology @EmmaDelescolle @bmispelon @nemecek_f in fact, @jacob was asking for a funding proposal at . The DSF paying @nemecek_f to fix the community aggregator would be a nice small project to try the waters ๐Ÿค”

OK, @CodenameTim had a super idea: Weโ€™re going to do a package maintainers open space @djangocon. If youโ€™re a maintainer in the @django ecosystem (or you want to be) and youโ€™ll be there, look out for that. We can share our woes, and joys of course, and plans, and hopes. ๐Ÿค—

I absolutely agree. Djangoโ€™s development server should happen to be production worthy too. And it should know about staticfiles. And it should do caching. And it should handle async for you, so that wasnโ€™t a whole โ€œchange my stackโ€ manoeuvre.

Letโ€™s chat about this at !
