Introducing #EurovisionFediVote. #Eurovision song contest but with #Activitypub based voting. Where you can run your Eurovision (virtual) party, voting by your followers and peers, celebrating your favourites of the official #ESC final in your community. Sharing your results with other groups. I’d like to see this happening. Let’s build it. Shall we discuss this at #FOSDEM? :)

Combined with the impressive downward curve of cost for battery storage in general, this WILL lead to something the big power companies really fear: decentralised, local grids. With renewables and storage combined in ways, when done right, that gets us to effectively free electricity for private households. I tried to secure a ticket for #FOSDEM after I lost in the #38C3 lottery and had to find out that FOSDEM has no lottery or price for a ticket. You just show up and are welcomed in Brussels ;)

Gut feeling: #FOSDEM will be very political this time. Emergency devrooms to save democracy and fundamental human rights?

I’ve been talking about this for some years now. And I am very happy to see that more and more people share similar thoughts and there now is a dedicated devroom at #FOSDEM for this. I am NOT involved in that, BTW. And that’s just the way I like it! Ideas are bigger than people, so I am looking forward to learn from far more involved people about all the other things I can’t even imagine that are defining in this field! See you in Brussels! 5/5

I really hope the @EUCommission sees how we, the communities of practice are building solutions like #Forgejo, #codeberg, #mastodon mostly out of the #EU, with developers located in the EU, building solutions for the world, respecting privacy and sustainability the Open Source Way because we care.
