@fwd50 I do hope that at the end there will be a report on what social media has been most effective for this great event. Mastodon seems pretty active (thanks to @sboots call to action) but I'm curious if I'm biased. LinkedIN will also have some great material too.

@digiphile It's really pretty good as a virtual conference too. The folks have done a great job of creating a hybrid event.

@sboots may not say GOSLINGS on the #FWD50 stage, but worth raising them. Nerds and Nachos is the current form. @russellmcormond @mcr314 @mirgray were a key part of keeping that fire for open source burning.

Great points about vendor lock-in with the Beeck Center. The UK realized that they needed to break the cozy relationship between vendors and government agencies.
