Covid test is negative, so I'm clear to head to #PyConUS #pyconus2024 on Amtrak from New York tomorrow! I still have packing and last minute errands to run, but I'm excited. :)
At the airport en route to #PyConUS and feeling all kinds of feelings but let me start with this one, which too often remains unstated in the constantly frustrating and difficult world of software development:
I love Python. I love the Python community. It is such an enormous array of gifts (the code, the ecosystem, the social events) that has enabled so much of my career and my *life* that I want to express my gratitude.
The booth is ready for you, #PyConUS #PyConUS2024 !
You know a conference cares about its marginalized attendees when a random short elevator ride includes not one, but two stenographers. Was too shy to say hello, but if y'all see this, you are APPRECIATED. #PyConUS
The #PyConUS booth is ready - see you at the opening reception this evening!
Successfully delivered my first-ever PyCon talk! In collaboration with Charlie Marsh (creator of Ruff and uv), we talked about improving resource consumption while building and maintaining Python projects, and had a surprisingly large audience given it was in the sponsor talk track.
Thanks to @haubles and @devs for giving us the opportunity to do this! I'll post links to the slides and video once the video is available.
