We had a blast providing live captioning at PyCon US 2024! 😍

You heard it here: a PyCon cruise called Sea Python. Blame @jrrickerson for it.

For anyone still at looking for dinner plans, I think I'm going to head over to Bridges & Bourbon around 6 or 7. I ate there once, and would love to try something else.

I'm happy to eat alone after all this social time, and just as happy to spend another dinner sharing stories.

Waiting for boarding my flight out of Pittsburgh after and what a PyCon it was!

It flew by in a flash and if I weren’t so socially drained I wished it went at least twice as long. Always heart-breaking when one only gets a few sentences in with ppl one sees once per year. 💔

This year had much more energy than last year and the fact it sold out gives me hope for its future. See y’all in Prague!

Did anyone in the fediverse attend the online/remote way?

I'm interested in trying it next year (hoping it'll be available again), but haven't seen any toots from online attendees.

In related news, it's been a blast watching all the PRs and issues from the sprints landing, I hope to participate next year.

Closing out my experience with a nice long bike ride and availing myself of some unique public transit (the funiculars, referred to as "inclines" in local jargon).

PGH has a pretty good bike share! The rate for e-bikes is quite reasonable, probably offset by a slightly higher rate for non-electric than what I'm used to. And the pedal assist is appreciable but not unreasonably strong (I topped out at maybe 18 mph)

Bye , it’s been real. My heart is full. Also couldn’t have been happier with Pittsburgh and can’t wait to return next year.

Well my fellow attendees, that’s all for me this time. It was wonderful to see y’all and I can’t wait for next year. Between now and then, join us for a meetup (they’re virtual) or come down to Austin and visit us for @pytexas Conference April 11 - 13, 2025. Until we see each other again.

I will admit to spending the first half hour of today's sprints figuring out why my tests weren't running, only to realize I had pytest installed system-wide on my laptop. 🤦‍♂️
