It's quite something to see a journalist who cut their teeth in Lawrence pre-Django talking about eventually learning to code, and then building out journalism tooling in Django. It's amazing seeing how much good has come out of one reasonably small newspaper. #PyConUS
At #PyConUS I'm masking indoors and self-testing every morning to avoid catching or transmitting flu or COVID. Appreciating that Hall B, the keynotes/plenaries room, has very good ventilation and airflow.
A thoroughly well-deserved Community Service Award given to @daisy for service during an exceptionally long tenure at the helm of @pyconau, presented at #PyConUS.
It's an absolute travesty that she is unable to accept it here in person. I hope this country can start doing better by trans people again in the future.
