I'm proud of my spouse @leonardr for his decades of service to the world. The #Python Software Foundation recently recognized some of that service by naming him a @ThePSF Fellow, and giving him the Community Service Award.

Always love seeing the Pac-Man Rule spreading around the Python community. It was in the opening intro at #PyconUS!

"play is only play if it's self directed" has just set off a lot of lightbulbs about my school's mandatory sports program 🤔
At #PyConUS this year I learned that the most enduring one-line quote from my 2024 keynote
https://harihareswara.net/posts/2024/references-pycon-us-keynote/
-- the one multiple people quoted back to me, one offhandedly in the midst of talking about their own career -- was:
Infrastructure is a way we take care of each other at scale. (from the start of the talk)
or
Infrastructure is how we care for each other at scale. (from the end)
I keep staring at these cables when I'm out in the common areas of the convention center. I really like how a bunch of individual pieces come together at such a clearly defined point to combine their strength.
It's a nice visual reminder of how strong and resilient a group of aligned individuals can be.
The Official Python Documentary has published their teaser trailer at PyCon US 2025, and I'm so honored to be part of the story of Python along with other prominent Python figures.
Check the trailer, and watch the official launch of the documentary at EuroPython later this year.
If you couldn't be in the room for @pluralistic giving the opening keynote for #PyConUS the video is up. You should watch it. Yes you. And you over there. And you in the corner trying to hide. You should all watch it.
Whoever created this, thank you. This captures the energy of open source perfectly. If you see a problem you can be the one to fix it, and that's amazing! 💪
