Just published my notes from this year's Python Packaging Summit at PyCon US. If you've ever been curious what one of these is like from the inside: Wheel 2.0 + Zstandard, PyPI abuse vectors, conda vs pip, nab as a pip-resolver candidate. 🐍📦 https://bernat.tech/posts/pycon-us-2026-packaging-summit-recap/ #PyConUS

Thanks so much for coming to this year's Pierogicon! Not sure I got everyone's handle. Tag yourself if I missed you! @kojoidrissa @kevin @nik @mkennedy @grohe43

This was perhaps the most surreal #PyConUS I have attended (my 10th). On one hand, there was an entire track devoted to "AI". While at the same time, multiple talks (including the excellent lightning talk by @ehmatthes) dealt with trying to find ways to cope with the utter chaos visited upon open-source projects by "AI" bots opening pull requests. 1/4
@arrjay if you catch @mariatta for an #IceCreamSelfie, absolutely 😹

Over $60,000 raised at the PyLadies Auction
Thanks everyone for coming to my talk today. I appreciate being able to share the @pyladiescon story with all of you.
I am trying something new. I'd love your feedback about the talk, so I've prepared this short survey with only 3 questions, and it is totally anonymous.

I met old friends again, exchanged a few words with many people, and captured a few more moments together with photos 🙂
These small moments with the community are honestly one of the most meaningful parts of conferences like this.
Day two of PyCon US 2026 is over ✨
It was another intense day full of talks, discussions, hallway track conversations, and many more encounters with people from the community 📸
