Memories of Djangonaut Space. 🥰 🚀
What an amazing program, and it was lovely being mentioned in yesterday's PyCon US keynote by Rachell and Tim.
A complete lack of spoons keeps me away from participating in current rounds of DS and other contributions, but I wish the program all the best and hope to eventually return.

The sprints rooms are *so* loud with productive collaboration, credit to the less-than-ideal acoustics
It's heartwarming to hear but aaaaalso intensely stimulating. I may return to my hotel to grab my earplugs and/or over-ear headphones to knock that down a bit.
Having fun so far hacking on CivicBand, though :)
Texts I’ve received from my 15yo while away at PyCon:
I blogged about contributing to CPython. I achieved a goal I set for myself for this #PyConUS and I am very happy!
Everybody's just gone for lunch so now it's nearly empty. I can still hear what few conversations remain, though. Ballroom acoustics 😮💨
And I do enjoy the esprit de corps of clapping for those present who land their first contributions, even if I keep my personal applause a bit muted to avoid making the volume problem that much worse
Open Source is for everyone, and all that.
If anyone need to generate (and print) QR code for your sprint at pyCon uS (eg to tell people where you are, how to join discord, where your github repo is, whatever) you can use my ad-free QR code generator at https://secretcodes.dev/qrcode_generator/ No CLI, no download. Just do it on the browser.

If anyone at sprints is interested in working on gh-profiler, or sharing thoughts about the project, I'll be there around 9:30. I need to take a little walk before transitioning to sprint mode.
If you're not looking to contribute but want to share thoughts or opinions about what signals would be helpful to you when evaluating new contributions, please come find me and share what you're thinking.
I should probably spend at least some time during the sprints working on Starminder. There are a few annoying bugs and some sensible feature requests I could probably sneak in. 🤔 I expect bandwidth will disappear when Regular Life™ returns next week, so it might be now or ever… 😅 https://starminder.dev #PyConUS
