Django On The Med 🏖️ 2025

@paulox and I are putting together some Django Development Sprints. We're going to do them twice a year, in Pescara, Italy, and Palafrugell, Spain. Autumn and Spring. First one in October 🤞

Three days to get together and work on Django.

We're going with the working title, Django on the Med 🏖️

If that's something you might be interested in, we have a newsletter (Thanks @buttondown ❤️)

We've finished lovely but also a bit challenging run today with Simon Charette 🇨🇦 during 9.71 miles, ±450 meters 🏃🏃⛰️💚

Python 3.14 just landed — the most delicious release so far. 🥧

While others might celebrate with something sweet, we’re at Django On The Med 🏖️ raising a glass of Catalan wine 🍷 instead.

The perfect way to honour an "irrational" Python version 😉

Django On The Med 🏖️ has just started! 😊
I’m so happy to be here with so many amazing people from the Django community. Some are old friends, and others I’ll get to know in the next few days. 🌞

The day began with a lovely walk from the beach to the center of Palafrugell, and now the work is really starting! 💻

For the Community Update @djangocon, @paulox asked me for a picture of Palafrugell for his section on Django on the Med 🏖️
Sent him this.

You should come.

The first morning of Django On The Med 🏖️ has just ended. 😊

It’s been an intense and inspiring time, full of great ideas and good energy about how to make Django even better. 💡

Now it’s time for a well-deserved Catalan lunch with friends. 🍽️
