I have finally submitted my talks for - including something really fun for the main stage.

It could be my last one, so I'm hoping to go out with a bang!

"If you think open source is about software, then you've not understood the community. And if you want to understand the community, you need to visit FOSDEM" I think that's my motivational poster quote from this years conference. (Although this weekend wasn't "just" a conference, it's #FOSDEM - the largest Open Source conference in the world. And in its 25th year!) "What were my highlights?", I hear you ask! As a presenter, doing my second keynote was an amazing honour. Getting a stage to talk about Docker, and JavaScript history, were both personal moments as it showed that, after 25 years, people still want to hear me advocate for open source. What I also found gratifying is that my hard work in this area paid off when things didn't go well. For example, when the devroom lost power I had to improvise an "Unplugged" talk. Trying to communicate technical material, when there is no tech, is a situation most people will not have planned for, much less experienced. But I also had my laptop freeze immediately before a presentation, and had to find two people to replace drop outs in a panel event I hosted. Time to enable my encouragement gene and the personality module called "charm" :) (I even had a wardrobe clash with the previous speaker, as we'd both gone for the waistcoat and bow tie look. Hello, @Stephenrwalli) Now it's back to the reality and hard work of trying to incorporate those new ideas and projects into something practical and impactful. And advocate for others to do the same.

Due to a power outage, my third talk was not recorded, nor had slides... but still got reviews of "Presentation Quality: Very Good"

Curious about with ?
