If you will attend your first this year, or want to know more about this Open Source Conference happening on the 1st weekend of February each year in Brussels, this is a good summary (from 2017, but mostly still accurate).

Doing some research for this years (as yet unannounced) talk, and found a review of one of mine from last year:

"Magic and Software
Not even going to spoil this one, just go watch it.

techtipsy rating: 10/10, magic magic magic."

Yeah - I smiled :)

For the AlekSIS project, a very active open source school information system, we are looking for a freelance and developer with knowledge about and .

The task is to implement several features in django-oauth-toolkit.

If you think you might be that person, please ping me and @hansegucker!

For those who attend, will be a good opportunity to meet if you are interested, but that's by no means a requirement.

Oh wow, today I learned that is still a thing. Apparently, 3 of their affiliates were at and will attend .

This really surprises me. Although, there is no reason to believe that this project is dead, I am pretty surprised that they still announce news on their website.

Cool, cool ...

@diffrentcolours Ahoy! I agree that monitoring without a plan to make any changes isn't that helpful.

However, I think having some data makes it easier to propose changes in future. Some other folks and I made a submission a run a devroom to ourselves for 2025, and we were looking into the options for setting up HEPA filters in case we were accepted.

This is likely gonna be a multi-year project - I'm going in with my eyes open 😅

Had another look at Itinerary: It's good to store tickets and grab information from already existing emails and such.

But it's a phone application. I do my planning on the big screen, and enter most of the data there. I don't see a good option to edit the data on the laptop (running KDE) and sync everything over to my phone.

Another reminder set for next year.
