Frameworks, Libraries, and others
I'm announcing a bounty: I'll wire or venmo $100 to whoever fixes this:
https://github.com/dotnet/msbuild/issues/7988
I'm angry that such an impactful bug has been sitting open for a year and a half, and I absolutely don't have time to fix it myself, otherwise I would have fixed it long ago. I just can't do it all myself.
So, if anyone wants an extra green benjamin, it would be very helpful!
You know, OpenStreetMap data is under a license with attribution and sharealike clauses. Pokemon Go does neither, but is clearly using OSM data. (EDIT: they do attribute OSM copyright in their apps somewhere, but they don't mention the ODBL despite pasting in the whole license for each font they use.)
I wonder how we can force compliance on them.
I made a #scary #movie poster about @citizenmatt. The backstory is about a #software #developer that only comes after you in the dark.
Call me Blumhouse!
I just want to get argv[0], please!

Surprisingly, it is currently the wild west for something so basic, hope we can fix it for .NET 9.0, I'm happy to try to fix it and make a PR.
Considering writing a talk about "Boring software", covering some solid (boring) technology to build your apps. What would you want to see?
@khalidabuhakmeh @chethusk I hate that they used a new extension at all. Detection of the format seemed like it would have been pretty trivial. Hopefully they had a good reason.
Sure, but trying to get something “off the internet” is like trying to get pee out of a pool with a fishing net.
Good luck with that. https://mastodon.social/@verge/112377672565256633
@chethusk @bradwilson also Chet, you're awesome. Not trying to beat up on the messenger. 🤗
