Frameworks, Libraries, and others

1) hire talented people

2) make space for people to showcase their talents.

Just randomly thinking about how in the last week my go-live checklist went from 95 items to 45 thanks to an absurdly talented team that just picked up Kubernetes, Terraform, helm charts etc. from scratch and knocked it out of the park. Who jumped into Akka .net and learned the paradigm and proposed awesome improvements. Who added metrics and learned grafana charts.

Make space for people to shine, and lo and behold.

This is a neat feature toggle. It allows you to turn on and off features from the IDE.

Update: The checkboxes are also available in your cargo.toml so you can add them and toggle them there.

I've begun the process of switch Rust's Windows CI to Server 2022, starting with the mingw builders: github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull

This was tried a couple of years ago, but there some issues with mingw - so kudos to the folks that investigated and fixed those (sorry that I don't have links)!

Next step, the MSVC builders, which will require bumping the version of Clang that's used to build LLVM first...

@thehill I wish “do no harm” was as important to Americans as their “freedom”.

I'm tired with this go-live push but I'm so excited to go into Monday because my job is 0% bullshit and I'm wondering what stuff my team will impress me with next.

Don't get me wrong; I'm def taking a break at the end of this push. But the day to day is still absolutely awesome and I have the best team in my corner.

Every once in a while, Tim Cook mutters "oh shit, that's right", opens a special web page and clicks "Sync iCloud Now".
