Frameworks, Libraries, and others

@bookstodon I just finally read Watership Down. What an amazing book!

A library close to us offers printing service. You send them the design and they will print it for you, and then you come and pick it up. I still need to gather details as to what are the limitations around this service, but at first glance, pretty cool!

@w8emv so far, I myself have never experienced this, but apparently "digital modes aren't real ham radio".

It doesn't make sense to me; it's much easier and requires less knowledge to key a microphone and talk than to configure WSJTX, so, on the face of it, you'd think digital modes would be "more ham radio" than phone.

(I don't actually think phone is lesser than digital modes, I'm just questioning the logic of those who claim the opposite)

@vampiress had a conversation with a younger coworker the other day about git submodules.

"But why not just use a package manager?"

My response was "I agree, now go back in time to 1995 and invent a package manager for C that doesn't suck, and maybe by 2005 Linus won't feel the need to invent submodules."

@mookie yes! When I have trouble falling asleep. When I get very excited before playing a game (too competitive, need to calm down). When I get nervous during turbulence on a plane. I used to start my day with it but couldn't stick so it is a tool in mini 'emergencies' only.

what in the woooorrrrrllllddd they gave Seinz a 5s penalty for the second contact? What Piastri did to seinz on the first attempt to overtake was way worse but Seinz was pro enough to avoid the collision and dive to the side.

Piastri was freaking clueless how to avoid making contact with seinz on the second overtake, and seinz gets penalized. man....

penalties are so dumb sometimes

It's weird, maybe a coincidence (probably it is), but my network reaching out about dev work and dev ideas has gotten busier lately.

People brewing ideas, looking for execution on them. I get tempted here and there to jump back into the fray and work with people on a product. But still not there where I want to pull the trigger.
