The web is not dying

> The web is not dying. The web is huge. The web is ever-expanding. The fact that the web is just the same 5 big websites is a fucking lie. It’s like saying the restaurant industry is the same 5 fast food chains. It is not. It’s up to you to decide to stop visiting those 5 sites and stop ingesting their fast food content.
It's only a murder of crows if there's probable caws.
@danwwilson Yeahhh I think you're running into a genuine limitation with ggproto here, where it really wants aesthetics to be explicitly spelled out in the data it receives.
I'm biased bc I only use ggproto if I *have* to, but I'd try to solve the problem with aes() first. For me, the splicing pattern comes to mind, so I ran with that approach to see how far I get (result is more typing but more flexible)

@danwwilson tl;dr - Others are better than me at taming the ggproto beast 😅
@EvaMaeRey Maybe this makes an interesting problem for you given the kinds of extensions you've make - do you have any thoughts?
Finally took the time to sit down and learn `{rrapply}` for recursive-apply over ASTs. How incredibly satisfying it is to finally have a *principled* solution for converting this R lme4 syntax:
y ~ x + (1 || z)
to the Julia MixedModels.jl equivalent:
y ~ x + zerocorr(1 | z)
Can't wait to dig more into this for other metaprogramming shenanigans :D

Less than 10 miles away, our local metropark"s Eastern Redbuds are almost done blooming. The park is known for the beautiful purple blossoms on the Redbuds that border the river and road.
One of our local neighborhood parks also has Redbuds, bordering the wetland and trail. Currently with gorgeous purple flowers and very little green leaves.
What a difference between the two parks!
